Summary

This own-initiative report concerns control measures establishing the conformity of fisheries products with EU market access criteria. The amendments stress that imported fishery and aquaculture products undergo fewer controls than EU production, call for equal sanitary, environmental, labour and sustainability standards, cite the Common Fisheries Policy, the IUU Regulation, DG SANTE audits, traceability and origin labelling, antibiotics and residues, vessels off West Africa, and ratification of ILO C188.
