Summary
Own-initiative dossier on a sustainable and competitive European aquaculture sector. Amendments debate whether and how to increase EU aquaculture production while weighing quality, sustainability, environmental impact, food safety, feed sustainability and animal welfare. They invoke the Birds, Habitats and Marine Strategy Framework Directives and the Maximum Sustainable Yield, raise sea lice and invasive alien species, and call for reducing pesticides, antibiotics and GMO feed.
