Summary
Own-initiative report on the Commission action plan on retail financial services. Amendments address the fragmented EU retail financial services market, cross-border provision of products and consumer protection, FinTech and new technologies, the Special Eurobarometer 446, barriers such as language, fraud and tax uncertainty, FinTech funding levels in Europe compared with the US and China, sovereign-debt access for retail investors, and fees on current and savings accounts.
