Summary

This own-initiative report concerns three-dimensional (3D) printing and its challenges for intellectual property rights and civil liability. Amendments revise recitals and provisions on 3D printing's accessibility and growing final-parts market, its uses across medical, aeronautics, aerospace, automotive and other sectors, intellectual-property concerns such as copyright, patents, designs and trademarks, civil and product liability including the cited Directives, traceability of 3D objects, and security concerns around weapons and hazardous objects.
