Summary
Legislative dossier amending the EMIR and ESMA Regulations on the authorisation of central counterparties (CCPs) and the recognition of third-country CCPs. Amendments revise the supervisory architecture for Union and third-country CCPs, establish a tiering system and a CCP Supervisory Committee within ESMA distinguishing significant from less significant CCPs, and address the roles of national competent authorities, the ESCB and the ECB in euro clearing.
