Summary
A legislative proposal amending the European Market Infrastructure Regulation (EMIR) on clearing obligations, reporting, risk-mitigation techniques and trade repositories. Amendments rework the definition of financial counterparties, exempt small counterparties with low OTC derivatives activity from clearing, ease reporting for non-financial counterparties, address intragroup and exchange-traded derivatives, post-trade risk reduction, margins, pension scheme arrangements and ESMA's powers.
