2016/2247(INI)·8th term·ECON·INI - Own-initiative procedure·CompletedProcedure completed
Subjects: Banks and credit · Financial supervision
Rapporteur (the Member appointed to lead Parliament's work on this text): HÜBNER Danuta Maria (PPE)
Summary
An own-initiative annual report on the Banking Union. The amendments insert and delete citations to reports on the Single Supervisory Mechanism, shadow banking, non-performing exposures, the leverage ratio and a European Deposit Insurance Scheme; recitals contest the Banking Union as driving banking concentration and a pan-European oligopoly, while others affirm it as a step towards Economic and Monetary Union, and provisions address State aid rules in bank resolution.
