Summary
This dossier concerns the use of the Schengen Information System (SIS) for the return of illegally staying third-country nationals. The amendments invoke fundamental rights and non-refoulement, reference Directive 2008/115/EC and the Charter of Fundamental Rights, and address alerts on return and entry bans, data processing and sharing for identification, the European Union Agency for Asylum, Europol and the European Border and Coast Guard; many provisions are deleted.
