Rapporteur (the Member appointed to lead Parliament's work on this text): BONAFÈ Simona (S&D)
Summary
This dossier is the European Parliament's first reading on waste and resource efficiency under the circular economy package, amending the Waste Framework Directive. The amendments rewrite the directive's purpose and definitions, notably reworking what counts as 'municipal waste' versus household, commercial, industrial and institutional waste, and exclude items such as sewage sludge, construction and demolition waste, and certain agricultural and forestry materials.
