Summary

This own-initiative report concerns European gastronomic heritage and its cultural and educational aspects. The amendments link diet, health and wellbeing, citing UNESCO recognition of the Mediterranean diet and the French gastronomic meal as intangible cultural heritage; they call for including food, nutrition and gastronomy in school curricula, address obesity, malnutrition and eating disorders, the role of media and advertising, training of gastronomy-sector workers, and promotion of local and regional products.
