Summary
An own-initiative report on the protection of consumers in utilities services. The amendments debate the absence of a Union definition of utility services, the competences of Member States over services of general economic interest, whether to harmonise basic consumer rights at Union level or rely on existing sectoral legislation and the Consumer Rights Directive, protection of vulnerable consumers, and enforcement including the Unfair Commercial Practices Directive.
