2013/2112(INI)·7th term·EMPL·INI - Own-initiative procedure·CompletedProcedure completed
Rapporteur (the Member appointed to lead Parliament's work on this text): STEINRUCK Jutta (S&D)
Summary
An own-initiative report on effective labour inspections as a strategy to improve working conditions in Europe. The amendments stress the role of labour inspection in protecting employees' rights, health and safety, and the staffing and funding of inspection systems; recitals address undeclared and undeclared work, subcontracting chains, bogus self-employment, social dumping, posting of workers, cross-border cooperation and whistleblower protection, noting labour inspection falls within Member State remit.
