Summary
This is an own-initiative report on a European retail action plan for the benefit of all actors. The amendments highlight the retail sector's share of EU employment, the skills mismatch and labour-force needs, the impact of the economic crisis on small and traditional retailers, lower wages, fixed-term and temporary work and undeclared work, support for innovative SMEs and cooperatives, social dialogue, franchising, and unfair trading practices across the supply chain.
