Summary
An own-initiative report on a digital freedom strategy in EU foreign policy. The amendments address the internet and ICTs as enablers of freedom of expression, information, assembly and human rights, their use for repression through censorship, surveillance and tracking of activists, companies collaborating with authoritarian regimes, corporate social responsibility, mainstreaming digital freedoms in EU external action under the High Representative and EEAS, and bridging the digital divide.
