Summary
The dossier concerns small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), their competitiveness and business opportunities. Amendments stress the impact of the economic and financial crisis on SMEs, call for support for internationalisation tailored to each company and sector, for single export helpdesks, EU SME Centres and one-stop shops, for simplifying national procedures and reducing red tape, for distinguishing services from manufacturing SMEs, and for defining priority markets, while rejecting protectionism.
