Summary
This dossier concerns standard settings for media freedom across the EU under the Charter. The amendments stress free and independent media as foundations of democracy and the rule of law, media pluralism and ownership concentration, the role of public service media and the dual system, protection of journalists, sources and whistleblowers, the Charter of Fundamental Rights, the European Convention on Human Rights, and a Media Pluralism Monitoring Tool.
