Rapporteur (the Member appointed to lead Parliament's work on this text): BODU Sebastian Valentin (PPE)
Summary
This own-initiative report addresses the corporate governance framework for European companies. The amendments debate a proportional, flexible "comply or explain" approach versus binding rules and codes of best practice, stronger monitoring and "name and shame" enforcement, shareholder identification and rights, related-party transactions, executive pay transparency, board composition and women's representation, long-term focus and abandoning quarterly reporting under the Transparency Directive.
