Summary
This dossier is a report on reform of the EU state aid rules on services of general economic interest (SGEI). The amendments address the role of SGEI in social cohesion and basic rights, the principle of subsidiarity and Member States' responsibility for organising these services, exemption thresholds and notification of compensatory payments, the Altmark package, and reference Treaty provisions including Articles 14, 106 and 107 TFEU and Protocol No 26.
