Alternative dispute resolution for consumer disputes (Directive on consumer ADR)

This codecision dossier is the directive on alternative dispute resolution for consumer disputes. The amendments define its scope over contractual disputes between consumers and traders across economic sectors, including online sales and digital content, set minimum quality, independence and impartiality standards for ADR entities, encourage consumers to first contact the trader, and address exemptions such as services of general economic interest and notification of entities to the Commission.
