Summary
An own-initiative report on demographic change and its consequences for the future cohesion policy of the EU. The amendments rework paragraphs on old-age dependency ratios and regional polarisation, ageing, fertility and migration, and their impact on pensions, healthcare and social infrastructure, calling for demographic indicators to supplement GDP in allocating funds, and stressing the European Social Fund, ERDF, care services for the elderly and the Europe 2020 strategy.
