Summary
An own-initiative report on the Internet of Things. The amendments address technological advance and its impact on competitiveness and international trade, radio frequency identification (RFID) replacing barcodes, interfacing with the Galileo satellite system, applications in commerce, logistics and healthcare, governance, personal data protection and consumer privacy including a right to 'chip silence', the needs of SMEs, and funding under the Framework and Competitiveness and Innovation programmes.
