Summary
A framework decision, initiated by several Member States, on preventing and settling conflicts of exercise of jurisdiction in criminal proceedings. The amendments address reaching consensus to avoid parallel proceedings, the role of Eurojust when consensus is not reached, deadlines for replies between authorities, data protection of personal information, notification of the person concerned at trial stage, procedural guarantees, and timing relative to the Treaty of Lisbon.
