Summary
An own-initiative report on public finances in EMU 2007 and 2008. The amendments address the financial and economic crisis, quality public finances and sustainable growth, public investment and the welfare state, the Stability and Growth Pact and its preventive and corrective arms, the medium-term objective, deficits and public debt, public-sector rescue of the banking sector, tax evasion and tax havens, and euro-area coordination.
