Summary
An own-initiative report on the role of NATO in the security architecture of the EU. The amendments revise recitals on shared values of freedom, democracy, human rights and the rule of law, the overlapping membership of EU and NATO states, the responsibility of the UN Security Council, the Treaty of Lisbon and ESDP, the Berlin Plus arrangement, and differing views on whether strengthening the alliance helps or harms security.
