Annual report on the European Ombudsman's activities in 2007

This own-initiative report is the annual report on the European Ombudsman's activities in 2007. The amendments add recitals on the Charter of Fundamental Rights and the Treaty of Lisbon, and call on the Ombudsman to promote his activities transparently, interpret 'maladministration' broadly, enhance openness and accountability in decision-making, improve his public profile and information to reduce out-of-remit complaints, and strengthen the European Network of Ombudsmen.
