Summary
An own-initiative report on supporting early demonstration of sustainable power generation from fossil fuels. Amendments debate the continued role of fossil fuels and coal for security of supply alongside renewables and energy efficiency, the deployment of carbon capture and storage (CCS) technologies as transitional and complementary, construction of demonstration facilities including a figure of at least 12 projects, their geographical spread and funding, the role of the emissions trading scheme and carbon price, the EIB and the SET-Plan.
