Summary
This dossier concerns the Marco Polo II programme of financial assistance to improve the environmental performance of the freight transport system. Amendments promote short sea shipping, rail and inland waterways, Motorways of the Sea, catalyst, modal-shift, traffic-avoidance and common-learning actions, attention to SMEs, microenterprises and the outermost regions, levels and durations of Community financial assistance and subsidy thresholds, and reports on extending the programme.
