Summary

This dossier concerns the organisation of working time for persons performing mobile road transport activities. Several amendments reject the Commission proposal; others debate whether self-employed drivers and "false" self-employed drivers fall within scope, address driving and rest periods, road safety and health, possible extension to vehicles under 3.5 tonnes, loading and unloading time, tachograph recording, administrative cooperation between Member States, and the role of social partners.
