Summary
This dossier concerns the term of protection of copyright and related rights. The amendments debate extending protection for fixations of performances and phonograms beyond the existing 50 years, with proposals reaching 95 years, address performers, phonogram producers, film producers and broadcasters, an impact assessment of the audiovisual sector, transitional measures such as a fund for performers and reversion of rights, and reference Directive 2006/116/EC; some would reject the Commission proposal.
