Summary
A directive on patients' rights in cross-border healthcare. The amendments affirm that Member States retain responsibility for safe, high-quality healthcare on their territory and must not be encouraged to dismantle it; they address reimbursement of care received in another Member State, prior authorisation, national contact points, recognition of prescriptions, e-health interoperability, European reference networks, and equitable access including gynaecological and reproductive healthcare for women.
