Summary
An own-initiative report on EU election observation missions: objectives, practices and future challenges. Amendments address EU EOMs in new and developing democracies, a possible UN treaty on election observation, the OSCE/ODIHR, appointment of MEPs as Chief Observers and language criteria for observers, coordination of public statements, follow-up to recommendations, and inclusion of EOM findings in political dialogues.
