Rapporteur (the Member appointed to lead Parliament's work on this text): GARGANI Giuseppe (PPE-DE)
Summary
An own-initiative report on defending the prerogatives of the European Parliament before the national courts. The amendments propose a specialised legal service to represent Parliament in court, note that Parliament lacks legal personality and can bring infringement proceedings only through the Commission, cite Court of Justice case-law and Article 300(6) of the EC Treaty, and suggest amending Parliament's Rules of Procedure so its President may act in proceedings.
