Progress made in equal opportunities and non-discrimination in the EU (transposition of Directives 2000/43/EC and 2000/78/EC)

This own-initiative dossier reviews progress in equal opportunities and non-discrimination in the EU through transposition of the two anti-discrimination Directives. The amendments address the Commission's reasoned opinions, the rules on burden of proof, the administrative cost for business, indirect discrimination based on nationality or language and the internal market, the protection of minority communities including Roma in education, and a horizontal equal-treatment directive.
